Applications for the 2026 lcs leach award for singing are now open

The Leach Award for Singing is an annual singing competition organised by the London Choral Sinfonia. Founded in 2023 to celebrate English song and oratorio, it seeks to promote new, emerging talent across the UK and beyond.

The competition consists of three rounds: a Preliminary Round, a Semi-Final and a Final. In the Final, a First Prize and a Second Prize are awarded to singers, and an Accompanist Prize is awarded to a pianist.

The Panel for the 2026 competition will consist of Janice Chapman, a world-renowned soprano and vocal consultant, and Michael Waldron, the Artistic Director of the London Choral Sinfonia.

SEASON Launch at the 1901 arts Club

Earlier in September we hosted our annual Season Launch event at the 1901 Arts Club, Waterloo. The evening was an opportunity for supporters to meet our new Executive Director, Manfred, and to hear about all this season’s upcoming projects from Michael.

Live music was provided by Jenny Stafford (soprano) and Annemarie Federle (horn) - pictured with Michael - both of whom feature as soloists this season.

MANFRED SEIPT appointed executive director

Manfred Seipt will work alongside Conductor & Artistic Director, Michael Waldron, as the ensemble enters its 11th year. In this new role for LCS, Manfred will oversee all strategic and operational activities.

Manfred joins London Choral Sinfonia following an international career in classical music and live performance, including senior roles with IMG Artists and Universal Music Group. He brings extensive experience in artist management, touring, recording and partnership development, with a passion for enabling artistic excellence and supporting ambitious organisations.
